Role Overview & Responsibilities
The Faculty of Music proposes to appoint a fixed-term Departmental Lecturer in Music. This is for a fixed period of 36 months with effect from 1 September 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The person appointed will be required to provide not fewer than 36 hours of lectures/seminars per year for the Faculty of Music and to undertake examining and graduate supervision.
Applications are welcome from candidates with expertise in ethnomusicology and/or the anthropology of music, with related interests in the sociology of music, sound studies, and/or popular music studies.
Candidates must hold a doctorate in music, or in a related field (but with clear evidence of significant expertise in and knowledge of music), already awarded at the time of application.
The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Monday 5 June 2023.
Interviews are expected to take place remotely on Monday 26 June 2023.
