Role Overview & Responsibilities
We are looking for HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists to join our UKAS accredited Haematology and Blood Transfusion department 24/7 service. This is an exciting opportunity to further broaden your skill set - working in a modern and well-equipped laboratory, providing an extensive repertoire of investigations.
The department holds UKAS accreditation and is part of Laboratory Medicine which incorporates clinical biochemistry, haematology, blood transfusion, immunology and molecular pathology. Haematology and Blood Transfusion is equipped with modern technology including Vision Swift blood grouping analysers, Sysmex XN analysers, automated blood film staining, digital microscopy and Werfen TOP and Acustar analysers. The department is a specialist centre and can offer training for a wide range of technical assays.
The role is diverse and includes working in a fast paced friendly team providing a 24/7 service to our patients. On completion of an internal training program you may be required to participate in the out of hours rota including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays averaging to 37.5 hours per week.
