Consultant Medical Microbiologist
Role Overview & Responsibilities
We are looking for a Consultant in medical microbiology/infectious diseases with specialist interest/expertise in infection prevention and control (IPC). This role will be key to the IPC work of UKHSA at national level. Duties will include contributing to national IPC guidance, informing policy, and providing expert IPC technical advice and support including for incidents and outbreaks.
This post is within the Healthcare Associated Infection, Fungal, Antimicrobial Resistance, Antimicrobial Utilisation & Sepsis (HCAI & AMR) Division of UKHSA though will work with a range of professionals across UKHSA including IPC colleagues within the Directorate of Health Equity and Clinical Governance. The mission of the HCAI & AMR division is to protect people from healthcare-associated and antimicrobial resistant infections, through world-leading public health microbiology, outbreak response, surveillance, antimicrobial stewardship, modelling, research and interventions.
This post is based at the UKHSA Colindale, North London or Home Based but travel required to other UKHSA sites, external organisations and/or NHS Trusts may be required intermittently.
