Fixed Term from 2nd August 2023 to 6th August 2024
This is an exciting opportunity for a doctor who is looking to develop skills and experience in Emergency Medicine working in a DGH that is also a Trauma Unit.
The Trust has Emergency Departments at both Sunderland Royal Hospital and South Tyneside Hospital with the department at Sunderland benefiting from 24/7 middle grade presence and 16 hours of ED consultant supervision, 7 days per week. There is a well-established programme for induction as well as Emergency Nurse Practitioner, Junior Doctor and Middle Grade teaching programmes. Fourth and fifth year medical students regularly rotate through the ED and the department has access to low fidelity simulation equipment and a strong relationship with the Education Centre which has other teaching facilities and equipment.
Clinical working time will be a combination of day, late and night shifts as well as weekend working. Applicants will benefit from experience in Emergency Medicine and hold a valid ALS certificate.
Salary will be dependent on skills and experience.
