Carpenter Craftsman

Job Introduction As a Carpenter/Craftsman at Sodexo in Queens Hospital in Romford, you are also a problem solver, and safety promoter. We will rely on your expert knowledge and technical skills to identify repair and/or replacement needs. You will carry out a wide range of building work, fault finding and repairs ensuring routine and reactive work is carried out within the confines of the PFI contract and ensuring compliance with Sodexo and the Trust safety standards and procedures within the contractual timelines and KPI’s Join Sodexo and be part of something greater. You belong in a team where you can act with purpose and thrive in your own way. What you’ll do:

• Involved with the planned preventive maintenance programme as it applies to building fabric.
• Interpret and work from instruction, drawings and specifications appropriate to the respective trade, without supervision.
• Skilled in the hands – on repair of building property within the limits of their trade include joinery, building operations, painting.
• The working requirements may involve the need to take part in an out of hours call system.
• Liaison with contractors appointed on maintenance tasks, capital projects and minor upgrade works.
• Observe all statutory and legal requirements, particularly in relation to Health & Safety at Work Act.
• Use Sodexo’s CAFM system for work processing and monitoring of estates maintenance procedures.
• Liaising with the Client, Helpdesk, Contractors, Clinical nursing staff and heads of departments regarding work requests, information & planning.

What you bring:

• City and Guilds or equivalent in Carpentry/Joiner.
• Apprenticeship trained with a min[HM1] imum of City & Guilds.
• Good verbal, numerate and inter-personal skills.
• Able to communicate with people on a range of matters at all levels.
• Able to develop own skills and knowledge and provide information to others to help their development.
