Communications Officer

Queen Victoria Hospital is full of untold stories. Life changing surgery and outstanding care happen here every day and we are looking for an enthusiastic communications officer to join our team and help us raise our profile locally, regionally, and nationally.

You will be involved in all areas of communications including engaging our staff and stakeholders, as well as building strong media relationships and helping manage our online presence and intranet.

Most importantly you will be a core member of a small team making a big difference.

• Plan and deliver engaging and creative content for a range of media from the intranet through to corporate communications.
• Help keep the Trust’s website and intranet updated, liaising with colleagues across the organisation and external providers where appropriate.
• Responding directly to external and internal enquiries, including the media, helping manage the reputation of the organisation and the team.
• Produce high-quality content for a range of channels (including weekly staff newsletter, public website, social media, intranet and posters).
• Research and produce communications material which promotes the organisation and its key messages to a range of audiences.
• Assist with preparation, promotion and running of events including clinical talks, staff awards and the annual general meeting. This may involve some evening work.
• Provide a full range of communication support including brand management and preparing presentations.
