Job Description
The key responsibilities include:
- Service Desk activities including issue, return, and renewal of materials.
- Circulation duties including processing of reservations and fetching items from the closed stacks.
- Membership Desk activities including registering new readers and renewing existing accounts.
- Answering user enquiries including face-to-face, by telephone and online. Efficient and prompt referral of complex enquiries to appropriate second-line staff.
- Processing and handling of fines and library charges face-to-face, by telephone, and online.
The Successful Applicant
Person Specification:
- Experience of working in a busy customer facing role.
- Approachable, friendly, and helpful manner.
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service in a team environment.
- Effective team player with equal ability to work independently.
- Excellent IT Literacy, including experience of using desktop operating systems and software packages (e.g., Windows systems, Microsoft Office, email systems, Library Management Systems etc.).
