Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are looking for a motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our team! You will be responsible for taking care of your own truck and performing tasks in the field as well as in shop.

Responsibilities:

• Repair trucks, tractors, and heavy equipment
• Specialize in diesel engine systems
• Perform routine maintenance
• Use diagnostic tools to test components
• Perform quality inspections prior to returning the unit to the customer
• Preventative maintenance

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a mechanic
• Knowledge of shop equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Long term team mentality
• Valid drivers license required
• Class A or B preferred

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Performs repairs and maintenance on Class A and Class B DOT Vehicles, Heavy Equipment,

Stationary Machinery, as well as Facility Maintenance, ensuring repairs are completed accurately, timely and in compliance with Federal, State, Local and Company guidelines;

• Diagnoses mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problems
• Typical repairs include but are not limited to, routine maintenance and repairing of power train, chassis and body components, hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, electrical systems, and wheels and tires
• Makes emergency road calls to make repairs
• Uses a large array of hand and power tools
• Completes written work orders to document repairs
• Operates equipment to troubleshoot problems or assess effectiveness of repairs
• Reads reports, discusses, demonstrates, and completes forms as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $60.00 per hour
