Role Overview & Responsibilities

This service assistant role will involve working within our Outdoor Facilities team at Studland Bay, to help deliver exemplary site presentation, maintenance, and an all-round excellent visitor experience.

This role is based on 1950 annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. The working week for this role will be Tuesday to Saturday.

By bus, bike or car, to help you commute to our stunning location, we offer expenses for the ferry to and from work. A full driving licence is required to access the four miles of beach and car parks as well as the wider estate.

What you'll be doing:Working throughout the year in a unique location like Studland Bay requires commitment and an energetic approach to tackling a wide variety of practical tasks and responsibilities. Working with the Outdoors Facilities team, you will assist with day-to-day servicing and security for the beaches and car parks and maintenance including fencing, strimming and footpath repair at a high-volume visitor site.

You'll work within the appropriate National Trust procedures and guidelines to support the team objectives of excellent facility maintenance and compliance.

This will include assisting with practical tasks to help deliver our site management plan, which could vary from maintaining the car parks, constructing infrastructure, conducting invasive species removal and vegetation clearance, or patrolling the site to ensure visitor safety and enjoyment. The ability to build a good rapport with members of the public is imperative as you will be regularly interacting with visitors, regarding BBQs, dogs and littering behaviour.

There may be opportunities to collaborate with colleagues from across the Purbeck portfolio at Studland; including rangers, visitor experience teams and project staff to deliver our engagement and conservation strategies.
