Global Religious Pluralities – Project Officer


Salary from £32,960 to £37,705 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £40,432 pa inclusive of London allowance


This is a fixed term appointment for 6 months (project end: 29 February 2024) but subject to extension funds permitting.

Projected start: September 2023.


The Religion and Global Society Research Unit is seeking a Project Officer to work alongside the project team on its Global Religious Pluralities project that seeks to produce new paradigms of thinking and engagement at the intersection of religion and critical global challenge. The project explores the contemporary challenges faced by religious pluralism in different global contexts with a particular focus on women’s leadership and climate change.


The project officer will support the project manager and the overall coordination of the outputs and obligations outlined in the grant project proposal including: the convening of workshops and roundtables, production of online toolkits, multimedia outputs and project reporting (financial and narrative).


Candidates should have a university bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and be able to demonstrate examples of effective project coordination in professional or voluntary capacities. Candidates should be aware of the responsibilities associated with major research projects, and have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to provide examples of delivering to time and being flexible and adaptive in a project context. Additional expertise in the context of World Religions greatly preferred.
