Role Overview & Responsibilities
CMU is a well established level 2 tertiary unit which covers a local population of approximately 550,000, with a total catchment of 1.2 million, including North East Lincolnshire, Scarborough and York District of North Yorkshire. The unit consists of 10 beds and cares for a variety of acute cardiology conditions, which includes direct admission for all Myocardial Infarction patients requiring emergency treatment via the PCI Pathway.
Ward 28 consists of 17 beds and is a step down ward for CMU, it also provides care for all patients requiring cardiology care. It is a fast moving ward which has daily procedures, diagnostics and patients requiring care for chronic cardiology conditions.
