Role Overview & Responsibilities

About HFEH Mind Youth Services

HFEH MIND Youth Services comprises of three core services: MHST, Wellbeing Team and The Circle, with several small to medium projects and services. The team is made up of 40-plus, clinical and non-clinical staff who work across our West London boroughs. Our youth service projects are funding by various funding streams such as ICSs s, national Mind, local authority, corporates and our local communities. The Youth Services is an exciting and innovative team currently providing services in schools and colleges, community settings e.g., youth centres both face to face and virtually. We work with several strategic and local partners such as Chelsea Football Foundations, Brentford Football Foundation, Thrive London, Ealing Youth Foundation and the NHS.

Role Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified CYP MH Practitioner to work within a multi-disciplinary, early intervention Mental Health Support Team (MHST) to increase and improve emotional wellbeing and mental health provision within education settings for 5-25 year olds. You will be working within a successful Trailblazer site, which has emerged out of the government’s December 2017 plans: Transforming Children and Young People’s Mental Health Provision: a Green Paper.

You will have an active caseload of children and adolescents with mild – moderate emotional and mental health difficulties and will deliver evidence-based 1:1 and group interventions, employing the principles underpinning the national CYP-IAPT programme (Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies). Low intensity interventions (e.g. CBT guided self-help) will be delivered in a range of education settings (primary, secondary, special, alternative provision and sixth form and further education colleges). This will range from delivering evidence-based interventions for CYP and parents/carers in education settings, with mild – moderate presentations, to providing psychoeducation and training for a range of stakeholders, including children and young people, parents/carers and education staff, promoting a whole school approach to mental health.

You will work with people from different cultural backgrounds, using interpreters when necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities. You will also work closely with colleagues and partners in the Local Authority, CAMHS, education settings where interventions are being delivered and other relevant mental health providers. This will build upon the CCG’s and Mind’s whole school approach to mental health provision.

We are an equal opportunities employer; and are proud to employ a workforce that reflects the diverse communities we serve. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons from all backgrounds.
