Role Overview & Responsibilities
Our bespoke market leading client in Oxfordshire are seeking a Supply Chain Development Specialist, to join their growing team.
The Successful Supply Chain Development Specialist will be working within a technical manufacturing environment, working as part of a team and have the following responsibilities:
- To work with Supply Chain Development Manager to deliver targets for cost reduction and outsourcing levels across the various business units
- Identify cost savings plans with vendors
- Define annual savings plans with vendors
- Develop key suppliers to support current and future procurement needs
- Identify new suppliers as and when required
- Design and implement standard work processes that are scalable and provide flexible solutions to support the supply chain vision
- Propose plans for make-vs.-buy decisions including higher level assemblies
- Participate and lead continuous improve business processes and exceed customer (business unit) expectations
- Proactively monitor, measure and report progress vs. plans to the Supply Chain Development Manager, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate
- Monitor and control supplier performance in conjunction with the business units
- Share best practice process across the business
- Assist with the development and execution of execution of stock reduction plans
- From time to time, carry out any task that may be reasonably be required by the company
- Adhere to all the company Health and Safety guidelines at all times
- Carry out any additional tasks which are reasonably requested by the company
The appointed Supply Chain Development Specialist will have the following skills/qualifications:
- Qualification in a relevant technical subject (e.g. mechanical, electronic or production engineering)
- Experience in manufacturing/production engineering
- Development of key suppliers and commodity vendors
- MIS expert
- Communication - Effective communication with all members of the team
- Teamwork - Works well as part of a team and provides support to others when necessary
- Cultural Awareness - Aware that other cultures have different interaction styles and respond positively
- Emotional Intelligence - Desire to improve self professionally
- Engagement - Is committed, flexible and has a positive attitude to work
- Decision Making - Able to analyse a situation and know when a decision is required

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £35,000.00-£46,000.00 per year

- 8 hour shift

- Oxfordshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
