Quality Control Chemist

Esterchem Ltd, a family-owned company who specialise in the manufacture of organic chemicals (esters).

A vacancy has arisen for the position of Quality Control Chemist, reporting directly to the Laboratory Manager.

Working on a 4 on 4 off continental shift pattern involving day and night shifts, and liaising closely with Production staff, you will provide an analytical service to the company by:

• Ensuring the routine analysis of finished products, in-process samples and raw-materials is carried out in an accurate and timely manner.
• Carrying out environmental testing in compliance with our operational permits.
• Carrying out calibrations of various laboratory equipment.
• Ensuring all records are recorded in line with Company ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
• Carrying out Research & Development related tasks as directed by the Laboratory Manager.

The ideal candidate will be:

• Educated to (ideally) degree level in a relevant scientific discipline - experience desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
• Able to work as an individual with minimal supervision.
• Be able to work on multiple projects at any given time.
• Have excellent communication skills.
