Role Overview & Responsibilities

We have an opportunity for a Radiotherapy Pathway Co-ordinator.

You will work with the Radiographers, Clinicians and wider MDT team to ensure all patients, who are referred for radiotherapy, begin their treatment in a timely manner, and in accordance with national targets and research-proven treatment pathways.

As a key member of the Radiotherapy team you will take a lead role in managing the radiotherapy waiting list, tracking and scheduling patients to ensure compliance with national and local targets working closely with clinical staff to agree appropriate pathways and prioritisation.
  • Review and assess all new radiotherapy patient referrals and cross check that they are showing on the Cancer Waiting Time System (Somerset) and the Somerset spread sheet, ensuring consistency of data.
  • Monitor radiotherapy referrals daily to ensure that they are promptly reviewed and vetted by radiographers. Escalate any referrals to the Pre-treatment Specialists that are taking unacceptable times to be vetted.
