Crystal Glass Trainee Gilder
Role Overview & Responsibilities
Due to the high volume of orders being received for our HAND MADE Crystal products, Dartington Crystal are expanding their workforce.
Staff are required to work on gilding our high value crystal glass pieces. This includes hand sandblasting and mechanical hand engraving and gilding operations, in which gold and silver are prepared and mechanically attached onto crystal glass surfaces.
The techniques also include polishing and burnishing decorative patterns onto crystal glass surfaces for prestigious high value pieces for our customers.
A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is required, as well as the ability to not compromise on the quality of the fine art finishes that are required.
This vacancy may suit candidates who have suitable arts and crafts experience perhaps as a hobby and now feel they are ready to take the next step and become a Dartington gilder.
Alternatively, this may suite Arts graduates from university of college who can demonstrate some of the necessary skills from their portfolio’s and be keen to work and stay in beautiful Devon.
