Role Overview & Responsibilities

Operating theatres in Prince Charles Hospital require theatre assistants on a bank basis.

We cover a 7-day service with various shift patterns available, which includes days, afternoons and nights.

We are a dynamic team who are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking individual to help support our services if this is you please do get in touch.

The bank worker will be required to carry out a range of assigned tasks involving direct and indirect care for the benefit of the patient/client in accordance with agreed protocols, and consistent with the Agenda for Change Job Evaluation Handbook. The range of responsibilities will be in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse, Midwife or Operating Department Practitioner and will involve rotation as appropriate to the needs of the service in consultation with the bank worker and in accordance with local agreements.

The post is of an evolving nature and the Job Description is based on a flexible core competency framework that will enable the bank worker to develop their role. This role is linked clearly to minimum training requirements providing competency to practice. Professional guidance and support are also key elements to role effectiveness.
