Assistant Designer

As the winner of the Lloyds Bank Business of the Year (SME) we have an exciting opportunity for an assistant designer to join our busy Design team. Getting involved with all aspects of design, while working with an innovative and experienced team to develop your technical and creative design skills.

Main responsibilities

• To create presentation jpegs for concept sheets and update when changes made
• Assist Art Director with creation of 3D files
• To create images to be used for the Website and responsible for updates when changes made
• Do design amends for reprints
• Create customer branded covers and packs and supply files for approval, and then for print
• Create and supply low res PDF’s and final packaged files for Co Ed sales team
• Supply mock-up material once approved
• Set up Indesign and Illustrator files and templates as required for the design team
• Supply files to freelance designers and packagers via Google Drive
• Drop Word files into InDesign documents and create initial text layout
• Drop art into InDesign documents and create initial layout
• Organise and collect printouts for cover / manufacture review
• Set up Project folders to support the design team
• Create artist shortlists / image light boxes to support design team
• Work on pack, cover and internal design work under supervision

Skills & Experience

• Suitable for a graduate, or somebody with 1-2 years experience
• Working knowledge Adobe Creative Suite for print
• Conscientious, self-motivated and pro-active, with a passion for design and children’s products
• Well organised and able to work within project timelines and ensure all key deadlines are met with support from other design team members
• Confident and a good communicator
• Initiative, honesty and integrity
• Positive can-do attitude within a fast-changing environment
• A Team Player

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £20,500.00 per year
