Flexible & Part Time - Chocolate Drinks Cafe Team Member

Store Assistant in Cocoa Joe's York

This is a part-time role requires being available for 2 x 7.5hr shifts per week. Specifically Wednesday and one weekend day.

Availability is a key requirement. University students applying must have good availability outside of term time and have a schedule with very few contact hours.

We have a range of different chocolates sourced from all around the world which we then make into drinks. Since opening our York store in May 2021 we have been growing and are now in need of another enthusiastic and bubbly staff member to join our close knit team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for greeting customers and helping them choose their drink, preparing drinks, preparing add-on products and ensuring the smooth running of the shop/serving area through upholding of cleaning and food safety standards. The successful candidate will be a team player, confident, and have a sense of initiative.

Customer service in the shop involves more than just taking orders and making the drinks. It is about welcoming, helping them understand the range of delicious chocolates available, providing quick curated tastings, and being happy to chat whilst doing so. You will need to be highly personable, articulate, someone who really enjoys customer interaction and finds food and drink interesting.

The serving of the drinks will require the operation of an espresso machine. Previous experience serving coffee is not a necessity, but would be an advantage.

Due to the nature of the role and the expected work hours we ask all applicants be 16 years old or over.

Salary: £5.00-£9.50 per hour
