Virtual School Advisory Teacher
Role Overview & Responsibilities
BCP Virtual School have an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Teacher to work supporting Secondary school age children in care to maximise their life chances by accessing high quality education.
The successful applicant will work as part of a small, clearly focused, dedicated team of professionals who provide both challenge and support to schools in both BCP and a wider geographical area. You should be passionate about embedding best practice standards and putting children and young people at the centre of everything we do.
We work within a statutory framework and have established a set of clear policies, protocols and procedures to guide our work that enable us to be ‘knowingly biased’ and act as an advocate for children in care.
As a future member of the team we require you to understand the needs of children in care and how their education can best be supported. You will be experienced in the Secondary educational phase and have knowledge of good practice in pedagogy, setting high quality aspirational goals supported by educational interventions that are impactful. Experience of fulfilling the Designated Teacher role within a Secondary school would be an advantage.
Training and development of staff is highly valued in BCP Council and you will have the opportunity undertake learning opportunities specific to the role.
If you would like to have a part to play in developing, maintaining and increasing high standards of education for our children in care please apply now.
